The paintings in this series were made in my home studio during Spring 2020, a time in which I had been researching the use of the colour blue through cultural artefacts with particular reference to fading, instability and loss. This resulted in an essay, The light that gets lost, which can be read here.

The paintings, Blue Hours, feature a vocabulary of forms which reappear across the series; these evolved from drawings made whilst walking in the woods.

The paintings were sold under the #artistsupportpledge, an initiative originally set up by artists to support each other during the Covid-19 lockdown in which 20% of the sale price goes to support other artists. All works have now sold; please join my mailing list if you are interested in available works in future.
